The Far Out Sound of the Lugton Young Team!
Ex Nyah Fearties and Junkman's Choir percussionist
Mr Luggs has a long career on the outskirts of the
Scottish rock industry banging on drums and plucking the banjo but his solo recordings sound like a man
who has picked up an instrument for the first time and doesn't know
whether to strum it or thump it! The "Luggness" album
shows off his talent for off-the-wall comedy and strange original
music. Is it folk? Is it rock? Is it Eastern Blok industrial soundscapes?
No! It's Mr Luggs doing what he does best... being crazy!
A dozen tracks of undescribable music, poetry, soundscapes and mayhem. Includes a 15 minute suite of music created for a French magic show!!! Wow...
The CD comes in a sandpaper sleeve with inner wallet
and full colour insertions. Keep it away from your other CDs...
(even PIL's Metal Box!)

Mr. Luggs - From Topplers, the torch-bearers of the modern UK DIY scene, comes Mr. Luggs. Pulling together Scottish ranting, bagpipes, and weird jams, while throwing out what one might consider a song, this Scotsman comes up with something that is certainly punk, in his determination to stand at the margins and wave his cock at the crowd. Maybe this is the demented stepbrother of the Country Teasers, a thing that owes more to Celtic jigs than the Fall. It is certainly not the ol' 1-2-3-4 with distorted guitar and backbeat. In fact, as a whole I really can't figure out what this is other than one guy's take on what his idea of music is. In that way, this totally fits into the spirit, if not sound of Mr. Luggs' DIY forefathers. Great while sober and I'd imagine even better drunk.(SSR) SS Terminal Boredom |
