Steve's first 7" single since 1979! Steve Treatment was a pioneer of the 1970s DIY recording scene. He released three singles from 1977 to 1979 on his own label or with the Swell Maps on their record label. Although he kept writing and recording throughout the 80s and 90s nothing was officially released until Hyped2Death records in the USA brought out a double CD of his complete works. In 2003 Topplers Records got in touch with Steve and he started to collaborate with our 'house band' The NoMen. In 2005 they released this 7" single featuring five tracks by Steve Treatment with the NoMen backing him on a variety of new songs and new versions of older tracks. Steve hasn't lost his edge! Clear Visions of Grandeur! CD album a compilation of Steve Treatment recordings on Topplers from 2003 to2005 This CD puts together the limited edition releases that Steve and the NoMen released throughout 2003 until 2005. This new version also includes all 5 tracks from the 7" single remixed and remastered for a fuller sound and with Steve's vocals brought forward.Steve's collaborations with the NoMen produced some memorable moments especially his Christmas singles which are all included here. There are acoustic versions of songs he recorded as demos but were so good that we released them as they were! The NoMen also released some albums of their cover versions of Steve's songs and the best of these are also on this compilation. |
