"The Keys to Talgarth Road"
was released on CD in 2003 and features the NoMen playing 11 of Steve Treatment's
songs in their own unmistakable style.
The cover showed Esther Rantzen with a three legged pair of tights! THAT'S LIFE!!!

Why is Esther Rantzen on the front of your album? The artwork for the "Talgarth Road" CD was found in a 1988 newspaper which had lain under the carpet in Allan NoMan's bedroom! It looked like the type of photo used on Television Personalities albums so we used it for the NoMen album. What does
it say about the contents of the album...? Nothing!
The original ad was for some British Industry Standards with a caption
which said "Don't let your product become famous for the wrong reasons"
When was it recorded? The first track (TWIAS) was recorded in January 2003 by Allan & George NoMan just for their own amusement. After that Billy was recruited into the band and the rest of the tracks were done over four Saturday afternoons in February and March How different are these from Steve Treatment's originals? Some are similar and others are completely different! All the originals have now been released by Hyped2Death records in the USA so you can compare them yourself! Apart from Steve Treatment who else influenced the sound on this album? We went mad with different sounds and styles! Fast wrist is influenced by the whole sixties psychedelic eastern sound, Echo in the Backstreet is like spooky TV themes, Good While it Lasted is pure Johnny Thunders, New Youth is Nuggets style garage punk... we all like different stuff and that shows through on the album. Steve was hugely influenced by Marc Bolan so we tried to keep any T Rex influence out of the recordings! What is next for the NoMen? We are going to turn our attention to updating a variety of classic DIY punk singles from the late seventies and early eighties. Stuff by the TVPs and Swell maps and all those classic one hit wonders like 'O' Level and the Cult Figures! ------------------------------------ The Keys to Talgarth Road was released on CD in May 2003 as a limited edition black vinyl CD! It has long since sold out.
