Nyah Fearties

Scottish rock has never seen a band like Nyah Fearties!!!
From the mid eighties to the mid nineties they ploughed their own furrow through a feedback swamped, folk-punk minefield!!

Here are some sights and sounds to give you an idea of what they were about! (videos below!)

Lugton Loonie Show
Another rarity! Believe it or not Radio Scotland let the Fearties loose on the radio in the late eighties with their own one-off "Lugton Loonie Show" There were interviews and live music including this version of "Bible John " from 'The Good, Bad and Alkies' single! Bible John was, of course Scotland's best known serial killer who's never been caught!
Barrassie
is part of the Ayrshire coast whose beaches are where all the shite from the sewers ends up... "Oh Saltcoats you're the most, and I love your Jobbie coast!!!" This came out as a 7" single though this radio version is much better

Baith sides o' the bed
One of the best tracks from "desperation o' a dyin' culture"
"You can catch a fish in the Lugton Watter...
but you'd have to fry it in an antiseptic batter!"

Stephen's Rant!
Recorded live at the Bibelot, Dordecht in Holland.

The Railway Beast
A true story
Craig White was the original singer with Nyah Fearties. This song explains a terrifying tale of Craig walking home to Stewarton along the railway line and hearing the roar of the "railway beast!"
"Ah want they white chocolate mice fur ma supper!"

This has always been one of the Fearties best loved tracks. From "Desperation o' a Dyin' Culture"

Bludgeon Man
"BEANO!!!" From "A Tasty Heid Fu". Full throttle Ganjo Playng from Stephen and a fantastic rumblin' acoustic bass assault from Davie!!!

Drunken Uncle
This has to be heard to be believed!!! Recorded in a touristy pub in Wales - the locals never knew what hit them! Stephen's vocals have never been so manic and listen to Davies thundering acoustic bass!!! Phenomenal!!!

Franny's song
Here's a rarity from bass player Allan Feartie's personal archive. This 'Pixies' like instrumental was recorded in New Cumnock Boy Scout Hall onto a 4 track cassette. Franny Lopez was in the band at this point and they were still toying with calling themselves the Collaborators. This was one of Franny's tunes and was never released in any form what-so-ever.

Big Black Lies
From "A Keech in a Poke, fur Nosey FolK!" Balalaika and Motorhead style bass solos. What a combination!
Written at the time of the early 90s democracy marches in Scotland!

more trax will be added shortly...
